Our Review of the Chariot SideCarrier
Now THIS is cool. Like a motorcycle sidecar, the Chariot SideCarrier allows you to take your child biking right alongside you. Unlike a tow-behind bike trailer, the SideCarrier does not "tug" on the bike when you change speeds; it has a much more unified, connected feel, making this a desirable product for performance bikers. The low center of gravity makes the carrier extremely stable, and the smoothly pivoting hitch allows you to lean the bike from side to side while the SideCarrier remains upright.
On the downside, the SideCarrier is NOT compatible with most road/race, comfort/cruiser, full suspension, or smaller bikes. Don't be too intimidated, though: the innovative hitch assembly fits on pretty much any standard mountain bike (and hey, if it doesn't fit your bike, remember that we have a 30-day No Worries return policy). We had the hitch assembly attached to our test bike here within 10 minutes ... and it would have taken half that time if we'd been able to find a proper wrench to use instead of a pair of over-sized pliers. Extra hitches are available for a second bike.
*You can only use one side carrier on a bike. It only connects on the right side of the bike, to keep children on the safer side of bike paths and away from on-coming traffic.
The Chariot SideCarrier is a long overdue and amazingly well-engineered new form of child carrier; safe and easy to use, fun for you and your passenger, and sure to bring a smile from everyone who sees you go pedaling past.

"I took the SideCarrier out for a test drive with a thirty-pound weight for a "baby," and went from skeptic to true believer within 60 seconds. The bike handled surprisingly naturally, and the width that I took up on the sidewalk was not much more than towing a standard bike trailer; it was actually easier to ride through narrow spots, since I was able to see exactly how wide a space I was taking up. Plus, if the metal weight riding alongside me had been a talkative 3 year-old, we'd have been able to easily communicate ... perhaps about how much better the view was, compared to the view of my rear end offered by standard behind-the-bike trailers."
