Our Review of the Croozer Dog Trailer

Dogs are part of the family too, and dog lovers now have a high quality trailer like the Croozer Dog Trailer to take their furry friends out on the road or into the wild to experience the same sights and sounds as their owner. Pet bicycle trailers are sort of a new phenomenon, but the demand is definitely there, and several companies produce and market framed trailers for pets. Some smaller models will accept a Pet Porter or VeriKennel, but some larger dog trailers are big enough to haul a full-grown St. Bernard. The Croozer Dog Trailer isn't that big, but it will comfortably seat most medium sized dogs.

The Croozer Dog stands out from the pack of pet porters by combining the essentials of a bicycle trailer with a fully enclosed but well ventilated seating area that keeps your dog from coming into contact with the wheels while still allowing a breeze to float through the seat. Built on a sturdy steel frame, the Croozer Dog has a durable floor for easy cleanup, and the frame folds flat in seconds.

The ventilated seating area unzips completely to allow larger dogs to get in an out without a wrestling match. Naturally, you can't put your pet in a 5- point harness, but there is an internal eyelet where you attach a shortened leash. This will keep them secure while they enjoy the ride, and your company.

The max load of the Croozer Dog is 100 lbs., meaning you will not be hauling any St. Bernards, Newfies, or American Bulldogs in it.

It looks good

Reviewer: Jane Hwang , Vancouver BC Date: May 18, 2009
It looks like a good solution for my 14 yr old samoyed who has difficulty climbing onto the car but still loves outing. Just wondering how easy or difficult it is for a very arthritic dog to climb in and out of the trailer.

Market this in NYC...

5
Reviewer: Dog Lover , NYC Date: July 12, 2008
I haven't bought this yet so this is more of a suggestion than a review, but please market this in NYC. I just ran across this by accident. I have a 85lb. pit bull that I have difficulty getting to the vet b/c cabbies in NYC are scared to death to let him in the car even though he's well trained and loves all human contact. He's very well built and muscular because he's my exercise buddy. This is such a great idea since big dogs are not allowed on public transportation. I'm definitely buying this and will be recommending this to friends. Love the weight limit too.

Comments from The Staff:

I had to post this because it's so cute! You have to come back and let us know how your big pup likes it. Yeah, Pit Bulls definitely need some positive PR. Another manager here has one and she is so sweet. Thanks for taking the time to share your excitement over this product

Millie is very happy

5
Reviewer: Donna , Boston, MA Date: May 23, 2008
I bought the Croozer a year ago for Millie, my older paralyzed German Shepherd, and this is the ultimate way to get around town with her. In fact, she drags herself pretty quickly to the bike when she realizes we're traveling in her favorite vehicle. It's very roomy and when she's incontinent, so easy to clean. We live in a beach community and get lots of thumbs up from bystanders, and she loves all the attention. I'm getting ready to get her a jogging trailer for walks with my slower friends, guess I wish this could convert, but that's the only downside so far. Best feature is that if bike tips over, the chariot stays up, and she's safe. I rode for charity with her and we had a ball, everyone wanted to know where I purchased the chariot. You can see her in the Senior Section on the German Shepard Rescue of New England site.

This Croozer Rules!

5
Reviewer: Karma Worthington , Indianapolis, IN Date: August 28, 2007
I have used the Croozer now on many biking outings. Kate, my blue heeler, loves it. She can stretch out and watch the countryside then run along, chase her ball and when I say "in the Croozer" she hops in and rests. I cannot get over the attention the Croozer gets...I can be sweating and riding hard, but people remark "you've got a happy dog laying in the Croozer"...this is one great purchase and good-looking!!!!

My dog Mistral like the trailer, so do I. It is easy to handle. We are camper and the trailer dont need a lot of space. It is only fun.

We purchased this for our new puppy. She loves moving along without having to run! The product was easy to assemble (my husband did it--go figure). This product is of superior quality and value for your money. I hope to have the Croozer Dog trailer for many years to come.

Look-a-like of DoggyRide

3
Reviewer: Anonymous , Milwaukee, WI Date: April 02, 2007
We own the DoggyRide dog trailer, which seems strikingly similar. We like the product very much. However, the DoggyRide seems to have more features and a more sturdy design. We selected the DoggyRide after we had reviewed both. We were a bit disturbed to see these products so similar while the DoggyRide seems to be more original.

Comments from The Staff:

Hi there! Thanks for your feedback! We're actually looking in to picking up the DoggyRide trailer. Yes, it's similar to Croozer. Many bike trailers and jogging strollers are similar in price and features - just like so many other brands of things on the markets these days :)
