Our Review of the InSTEP Rocket Double bike trailer

Unlike our other InSTEP bike trailers, the Rocket Double Trailer features a lightweight aluminum frame and 20-inch wheels for easy handling over any terrain. Hit the trails or head into town with one or two kids in tow. Convert this child bike trailer into a stroller effortlessly, with the included stroller kit. For extra comfort while pushing this lightweight double trailer, the Rocket features a rubberized handle bar for a non-slip grip.

Installation: Install the versatile coupler to the rear axle of your bike. For quick-release axles, this requires no tools. For standard axles with rear hub nuts, you'll need a wrench. Once that is in place, attach the included tow arm to the coupler, and away you go!

Comparison: For an almost identical double trailer with a different name, take a look at the Schwinn Trailblazer Double Bicycle Trailer. Just like the InSTEP, the Schwinn features a lightweight aluminum frame and 20-inch all-terrain wheels. The main differences between the two trailers appear to be the colors, as well as the Rocket is a couple pounds heavier than the Trailblazer and features a slightly wider frame when unfolded.

Although you won't find double trailers that compare to InSTEP's low price, we do carry other quality bike trailers. If you're willing to spend the money, check out Burley's top-of-the-line child trailer, the Burley D'Lite bike trailer. Like the Rocket, the D'Lite accommodates up to 2 children, totaling 100 lbs and features 20-inch wheels and deluxe padded seats. However, with Burley's elastomer suspension system, the D'Lite ensures an even smoother, more comfortable ride than the InSTEP. The D'Lite also converts to a stroller, and a jogger and skier as well, but all the conversion kits are sold separately.
