Training Dogs to Ride

I agree with all of the earlier reviews. Our concern was making sure our 2 seventy pound Labs would accept the trailer. We kept the trailer in the house with the dogs for a week, then walked them behind the trailer for a week. Finally we used treats to encourage them to enter the trailer while it was stationary. Finally we used treats while the trailer was in motion. It worked well. The Novel trailer is extremely well built and worth the price. We pull the trailers behind recumbent bicycles.

Great Dog Trailer

I looked at all of the available options online for dog trailers. I finally went with the Doggy Ride Novel because it seemed to be the most well designed. While I haven't seen any of the others in person, I can attest this is a very high quality trailer. Very well thought out and great attention to detail. It's a bit tight for my 80# Lab when he lays down, but he does fit without any problems. I would like it to be another 6" longer.
Don't hesitate to buy this product, it is of very high quality, I really can't imagine finding a better one. Bicycletrailers.com was also a great company to order from. Free shipping and it arrived the very next day. Overall a great trailer and a great shopping experience.

Outstanding product and customer service - DoggyRide Novel dog bike trailer

Why choosing the DoggyRide Novel dog bike trailer? I owned two others dog trailer from others manufacturer, nothing compare to the Novel for quality of frame and finishes construction. Your getting an intelligent well though tru design. From wheel holder, to the fabric layout, lots of pockets and storage very well ajusted. The inside is great even for larger dog like Golden retriever. I am very happy with it. Also I need to mention their excellent customer support, you phone and someone take the call right of way, not a voice mail with several selection. Do not hesitate, go to doggyride site and get one!

Outstanding product. I have a very large 14 year old border collie with a dodgy heart, so he can't run with the bike for any distance. He (being a border collie!) was quickly trained to associate the buggy with going out for a run around / visit to a Biergarten and we have had loads of fun with it. You get a great reaction from people who see you whizzing past. I also have the Jogger wheel(bigger wheel than the stroller and much better in all situations) so I can push him around if he gets a bit tired when we arrive wherever.
If you have an older, trainable dog....look no further.

Great Product and Service

We ordered this product in the fall -- with full knowledge that it was on backorder. They kept us informed of the progress -- and voluntarily gave us the sale price when the product went on sale! We just received the Novel yesterday and just returned from our first 'test' ride. It is VERY well built, easy to install and attach, and rides/pulls very smoothly. I would recommend ordering the pad to afford more traction and less 'paw' sliding when turning etc.

Princess Chariot

I bought this dog trailer so my dog could safely go with my and my fiancee on bike rides. It is a great design. She loves to hang her head out the top hole, which is just big enough for that but not big enough for her to jump out. My dog is a Mexican gray wolf/ German Shepherd mix, so about 79#, but it is easy to pull her. I was worried it would be to heavy to pull, but it smoothly pulls her along.I also was concerned about how bumpy it would be for her, but even on uneven surfaces it seems to ride smoothly. This is the first trailer that she has been in. She adjusted quickly to it though, and she loves to be able to go with us biking. Also the trailer has a lot of safety reflectors on it and a bright yellow detachable flag. Not to mention a little extra storage in the back. It is definitely a great find! She looks like a princess in a chariot and it is a lot safer that having her run off leash besides us.
