Chariot Couger - great trailer!

5
Reviewer: Jenny , Arroyo Grande, CA Date: November 21, 2006
We love this trailer. It's easy to set up and collapse. It folds up very small, so I can get it in my trunk without having to take the wheels off. The kids love the big windows on the sides, and the pockets for their water and snacks. Most importantly, they are very comfortable sitting in there, which was an issue with another brand of trailer that we had previously. The straps to hold the kids in are a little cumbersome â?? I think they could improve those. However, the are padded and comfortable for the kids, so they donâ??t complain when I cinch them up. The trailer pulls pretty well behind the bike. There is a little bounce-back when you go over curbs or small bumps, but I suppose that is inevitable. One small beef - you have to use the skewer that they provide, and that doesn't fit into my bike trainer. So, I have to switch the skewer out every time I use it. Only takes a few seconds, and this wouldn't be an issue for people who don't put their bikes on trainers not many do .

All in all, I highly recommend this trailer!

Cougar 2 by Chariot

We love our Couger 2. Our only complaint is the need for additional ventilation. The summer in Dallas is so hot and our girls really need more ventilation to make them comfortable. I would love to see bigger side venting windows.

Best investment ever!

We researched a lot of bike carriers before making this purchase. This one had the flexibility and quality that we desired. My kids are 3 years and 1 year old and love going on bike rides with their dad. I use the jogging stroller conversion with them as well. The hardest thing about buying the trailer was finding information; we visited several reputable bike stores, but found their knowledge was lacking. This web site let us get the info which we then tested out at the bike stores. We have had no complaints about our purchase.

After looking at the dizzying choices in bike trailers for 2 kids, we settled on the chariot for its high quality and versatility. We have not been disappointed, and its been put to lots of biking/strolling use already. Especially useful: the shocks (we live on a ranch), large, well placed storage area, good sized pockets inside for snacks, toys, etc., and the amazing 3-in-1 canopies which really do protect them from wind, sun, rain. All around we are extemely pleased, and once the girls are too big, my husband vows he will use it to carry his tools around :)

WE LOVE IT!!!

We LOVE our Chariot Cougar 2 carrier!!! I was looking for a jogging stroller and my husband really wanted to purchase a bike trailer. This met both of our needs, and our daughter is super comfortable in her "chariot" :) We have had our Chariot for several months now and we use is daily. It is so easy to convert it from a stroller to a bike trailer. It holds plenty of cargo. I often take my daughter to the grocery store in it, use it as my shopping cart, and put all of the groceries in the back cargo area. The Chariot handles very nicely and it's so easy to manuver on grass, gravel, and even snow! My daughter stays nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Wherever we go, people always comment on what a neat stroller/trailer it is. We are so glad we bought this carrier!!!

We bought this as a bike trailer but have used it mostly as a walker. We LOVE it. Our daughters are 13 months apart and the 2nd girl used the sling for the first 7 months which was wonderful as she would often sleep during our walks. People comment on this trailer all the time. The girls are so comfortable in it sitting side by side and I find it easy to push as well as pull. Compared to other bicylce trailers my friends have this one really rocks. Two small complaints would be that it really misses a water holder on the rail and the shade guard is affixed by velcro which has been a pain as my daughter usually pulls it down so that I am continually reattaching it. We live in Houston and I have to say that the girls cook on the average day so we mostly go out in the mornings.

Lovin' the Cougar

We are so pleased with the cougar. While it may be big enough to hold 2 kids, it remains very lightweight and manageable. We use it daily for a run, walk, or bike ride. The conversions are very easy (what an ingenious design). Plus the kids love it; such a comfortable ride for all. And we feel confident about the safety. We are glad that we purchsed the cougar thru JoggingStroller.com because the customer service has been outstanding!

Love Everything About It!

I bought this stroller a year ago (2005 model) and have used it as a stroller, jogger and bike trailer. I love, love, love the functionality of it and everything about it. We put close to 50-60 miles on it a week just exercise wise and probably another 15 with our weekend outings and shopping. I have sold my 3 other strollers (except my Maclaren) and just use this one. My son is 16 months and is tall (38 inches) and heavy (almost 36 pounds)and fits so well in the Cougar 2. I had originally thought I would be able to use this for kids one and two but with the way he is growing I'm not so sure!

I am very tempted to upgrade to the 2006 model for the capability to store the jogging arms on the stroller and the non divided storage basket. My husband and I both use the stroller daily and he only has one complaint. He has very long legs, is quite tall (6'6) and at times with his stride he kicks the basket but that issue has been resolved with the fold up basket in the 2006 model.

All in all we are VERY happy with our purchse and don't regret spending the money one bit!

Goes fast (if you can)

We bought this for our two year old twins last year (2005 model)as a replacement for a BabyJogger brand twinner stroller. It was a fathers day present to myself as motivation to get my butt off the couch more.

We bought the bike kit and the jogging kit. I didn't think the strolling kit was necessary, we just use the jogging kit whenever we go for a walk.

I replaced the Baby Jogger primarily because I wanted a bike trailer. As a bike trailer, I give the Chariot 5 stars. Very stable at higher speeds. Hitch design is great, harnesses are secure, the "dial in" suspension makes for a smooth ride. And the kids absolutely love it, and are constantly yelling "go faster daddy!" (If only the Seattle hills would cooperate) As a jogger, I give it 4 stars. Tracks really well, and I like the lower height of the push bar. But feels a bit "mushy" because of the suspension, and should have a handbrake standard. Otherwise, the engineering and workmanship seems top notch. Good storage on the back, great rain/weather cover, and fold down is very easy and compact, much better than the baby jogger.

All around a nice sled that both the kids and parents enjoy.
