Burley Nomad bicycle trailer

I keep my words, to today I have on my Burley bicycle trailer about 12 000 km on asphalt and rough roads mostly overloaded ,Burley trailer did show wear and tear after about 8 months so I did build new better quality wheels and replaced tires - Schwalbe on double wall rims will survive longer then original rims and tires , fabric still hold and keep my stuff dry, I did made slight modification to trailer floor and frame also to increase payload and it work great, there is not annoyng rattling sounds on bad roads anymore. It is amazing how much abuse take this Burley trailer. I think that my Nomad trailer will survive another 2 - 3 years behind my bicycles on long touring trips. Great trailer but still in camp sites I miss Croozer cargo convinience and eazy access so on tour with Nomad trailer you must pack nicely and remember exactly where all your stuff in needs is located. I noticed that unbalenced heavily loaded Burley trailer in tow is pain to the ass on any road and in any speed so take time and pack nicely - you will be rewarded and balanced Nomad trailer will change behavior to better even over obstacles like potholes and so on ....... Will be eazy to tow and it will follow bicycle nicely, even downhill on high speeds descent. You may call me superkamikaze , but once on Cascade Hw on long descent I hit 75 km/h with overloaded but balanced Nomad behind Trek 520 and there was not problem in this speed with trailer behavior on high speed towing at all, it follow bicycle nicely. If touring cyclists need cargo trailer to carry all the camping gear , food , water , and bulky equipment like birding gear - cameras, big lenses , binocullar , spotting scopes , tripod and another thinks Burley Nomad is way to go.

Well , I get this trailer as a gift because my aging Croozer cargo trailer - (still serve me well for shoping and short trips to birdwatching sites) , Nomad is more expensive - hitching behind bicycle is 1st class , quality is similar to Croozer , this trailer is on heavy side , big + on it is bigger wheels , only difference is that you take more pay load with you compare to Croozer carco , once I had inside Nomad about 70 kilograms of cargo . On touring trips (about 30-35 kilo of gear ) behind bicycle tracking well on any kind of roads , only time when this trailer did not behave well was when I encounter strong side winds around Pacific ocean when on fast descent down the hill at high speads due to big sailing area , (trailer was properly balanced and loaded) and only when I slow down was everything back to normal . Once I ride in heavy rain and all my gear to my suprize inside Nomad was nicely dry . Access to cargo is good , but not so convinient like on Croozer cargo . I did pull Burley Nomad trailer just 860 miles behind my touring bicycle on asphalt and behind MTB on rough roads , this trailer do not show wear and tear yet , but time and long bicycle tours behind my bicycles will test Nomad durability , so give me more time , I will write next rewiew after 5000 + cyclotour miles before X mass .
